What is IoT?

In this post you will learn introduction of IoT and their applications and where we use exactly Internt of Things(IoT).INTERNET OF THINGS
Now a days, internet of things (IOT) is a trending technology in the world.internet of things is nothing but the network(connection/interaction) between physical devices ,vehicles and home appliances. It will connect the things through the medium,so it uses the components as medium, like

  • sensors
  • actuators
  • electronics and
  • software

Sensors:
Sensors are the  devices that are  used to detect and respond to electrical or optical signals. A Sensor converts the physical parameters  into a signal which can be measured electrically.
Physical parameters like temperature, blood pressure, humidity, speed, etc.
For each physical parameter there exist a sensor

  • Temperature Sensor
  • Proximity Sensor
  • Accelerometer
  • IR Sensor (Infrared Sensor)
  • Pressure Sensor
  • Light Sensor
  • Ultrasonic Sensor
  • Smoke, Gas and Alcohol Sensors
Actuators:

An actuator is a component of a machine that is responsible for moving and controlling a system,it is a "mover" and for turning energy into motion
When actuator receives a control signal, an actuator responds by converting the signal's energy into mechanical motion.

Electronics:

Electronics deals with electrical circuits that involve active electrical components like resistors, transistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors and transformers.
Software:it is the collection of programs to operate devices in IOT.

Applications of internet of things (IOT):

There so many applications of IOT ,day by day people are inventing new products,
some of them are

Smart transportation:

Transportation can be done without a driver, all vehicles are connected to a internet  and the IoT in smart transportation has rapidly changed the trucking industry with the help of mobile and connectivity advancements. Smart gadgets are playing the vital role as they carry out the important operations and make work more efficient and safer to use.

Smart homes:
A smart home  uses internet-connected devices to enable the remote monitoring and management of appliances and systems, such as lighting , heating, security, comfort, convenience and energy efficiency by allowing them to control smart devices, often by a smart home app on their phones  or other networked device.

Wearables:

Wearable devices are installed with sensors and softwares which collect data and information about the users,These devices broadly cover fitness, health and entertainment requirements.

Already, our planet has more connected devices than people. And, as with many new successful technologies, the IoT will transform the way businesses, governments, and ‘we the people’ interact with the rest of the connected or soon-to-be connected world.

But as with any new technology, IoT issues exist. These include acceptance, cost, connectivity, security, and more. Additionally, standards are not yet set, as many new players enter the field. But even with these challenges, the end goals of IoT have so much promise.

IoT innovation will continue to evolve as even newer technologies and connectivity strategies hit the market, furthering the transformation of unconnected objects into smart connected devices. This will impact a multitude of industries, as well as the personal lives of us all.
